"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union,
establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence,
promote the general Welfare, and secure the
Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity , do ordain and establish this Constitution for the
United States of America."
Now it seems to me that if I start a Business, I am the boss of the Business, or at least am the owner place someone else in Charge under my guidance. So why are not the People of the United States the Government? The answer is quite simple the People are the Government.
So why so I hear citizens of the US whine about how bad the Government is? How can one call themselves "Anti-Government" in a system that the people began and is a Democracy where those very citizens choose on a regular basis, who and how, their Country is run. It seems clear that being "Anti-Government" is a psychosis, where one hates themselves.
That view says a whole lot about the US and why we are in the sad shape we are in.
The Oregon ranchers Dwight and Steven Hammond seem to be good examples of this self-inflicted psychosis. This merges right into the tensions about the Supreme Court and the ill informed opinion that the Constitution is not a Living Document. For the Founders the Constitution was the first Draft of a form of Self Governing.
We began in the mid 1770's demanding that is was our God Given right to rule ourselves and not by Some King or some wanna be King. Today we hand off our responsibilities and then moan and groan about how bad we treat each other. If that is too strong, then Pardon me.
